Michael Dell, founder and CEO of Dell computers, has removed himself from the position, turning the position over to president Kevin Rollins. Dell started the computer company in 1984 while attending the University of Texas.
News of the shake-up was discovered in March when Michael Dell informed others of his upcoming decision. According to Wired News, Dell made it official during the company's annual stockholder meeting. This makes the only the second acting CEO that the company has had since its start up.
Michael Dell will remain company chairman. Dell computers also hold 18.3% of the worldwide computer sales market, up from the 17.2% that was reported last year.
