Google Analytics is a must for any webmaster or website owner to get an insight into the amount and type of traffic that is coming to your site. But does having Google Analytics installed on your website effect your Google ranking?

This question was recently posed to Mr Google, Matt Cutts who answered in the form of a video on the Google Webmaster Central YouTube Channel.

Although this might seem a pretty simple question to some experienced webmasters, there are plenty of DIY business owners who are doing the best they can with all the challenges of website marketing.

Now, back to the question. The short answer from Matt is no, having Google Analytics installed on your website will not impact your ranking. It will not even impact the speed of your page - the Analytics team recently introducing new JavaScript code which you can to your site to ensure that your sites load time is not impacted by Google Analytics working in the background.

If you want to learn more then I recommend checking out Matt's video below.

If you're yet to install Google Analytics on your website, then we suggest you hop to it. More information on Google Analytics is available here.
